AD and BC vs. BCE and CE

Kentucky has just decided to remove from their school curricula references to BC and AD (Before Christ and Anno Domini) because of the religious meanings. Instead they are using the "scholarly" approach and using the designations BCE and CE (Before Common Era and Common Era).
This does two things: 1) It shows how preposterous people can be; and 2) it shows how intolerant people can be.
1) They're simply taking out the reference to Christ. What they don't understand is it's still based on Christ's birth. Jesus is still the only true Lord, and is the focal point of history.
2) People who want "tolerance" are really quite intolerant of Christians, because we have and know the truth.
It's as Francis Schaeffer said about the Roman persecution of the early Christians: Rome did not persecute Christians because they followed Christ; they persecuted Christians because Christians claimed that someone had higher authority than Rome.
The same idea is growing today -- so many in America are ok with Christianity as long as it doesn't tell them what to do. The US Government, and everyone in America, is under the authority of the Triune God. He is where we get our blessings

Read an article about it here. It's not a new topic overall, but it bears remark.
