Multi-Generational Faithfulness

"The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob" -- this is the beginning of a pattern in the Holy Bible. It's a pattern that speaks to the strength of a Godly covenant. It's called "multigenerational faithfulness."
Parents need to have a vision for their children and their grandchildren -- three generations. This is the minimum necessary to build a strong covenant. If you are the first in your family to follow Christ, then you are going to begin the three-generation process and progress. If you are the third generation, then you are almost through what you inherited from your grandparents; but you still need to be training your children in God's ways, the ways of the Bible, so that they can train your grandchildren.
A Godly covenant is a wonderful, beautiful and strong foundation for your family. The point is not to be perfect and sinless -- the purpose and focus is to worship one God. Don't worship work or family or church or money or fame -- worship the triune God. David was a man after God's own heart because he worshipped one God. David's son, Solomon, was wise, but he did not serve one God all of his life. David served only Yawheh from his youth; Solomon worshipped many gods.
If you haven't started being faithful to your grandchildren, begin now. Accolades do not go to those who start, but to those who finish. Whether you're the first in your line or third, persevere and finish!
